By Rider | Sunday, October 16, 2011 | Comments(0)

Indian, Motorcycle of the Day
1948 INDIAN CHIEF - ORIGINAL - UNRESTORED. What you are looking at is one, good, original, unrestored 1948 CDH 3800 Indian Chief. I'm not real knowledgeable about Indians, but I will do the best I can to accurately describe this motorcycle. If you are looking for a good original rider, this may be the one. The previous owner had this cycle since the early 1990's and he said the rear fender and frame are the original factory paint. By carefully looking ... read blog

Indian, Motorcycle of the Day
'47 Chief that I've owned for several years. I have a lot of bikes. Sad to say, but perhaps I've put a few hundred miles on it. I just don't ride it which is the reason for the listing. My reserve is very reasonable. Thousands less than I bought it for, before I added new Kiwi cases and cylinders after noting a small hairline fracture in the cases. Everyone told me that I had to replace the cases. Except for Chuck Myles who put the bottom end back ... read blog

By Rider | Wednesday, September 14, 2011 | Comments(0)

Indian, Motorcycle of the Day
1940 Indian Four - No Reserve! This Four has a low VIN. The engine and transmission cases appear to have no welding done to them. This Four came from a gent, now in his mid 80ís, who did not take time to get a title in his name. The motor was known to run but hasn't had gas put to it in over 10 years. Instead this Four was kept to use as a spare for a bike he continues to use for events. As of 9/6/2011, I applied for a Tennessee title. I expect a ... read blog

1940 Indian Chief. This is an unmolested, nearly original pre wwll Indian. The bike purrs like a kitten at idle, and roars like a tiger when you get into the throttle. Ridden approximately 500 miles a year for past 4 years. All pictures taken in the shop were done with the bike running! The fuel tank is rust free, and never been repaired. The fenders are in good condition with a few small chips, and a little bubbling starting on the left side of ... read blog

Indian, Motorcycle of the Day
Nice original 1947 Indian Chief with side car. The engine and transmission was restored by Roy Burke (Oregon Trail Chapter of the AAMA) in 2006. The odometer says 8700 miles but am not sure this is correct. I have been told that the sidecar could be an original Indian or a Henderson. As you can see by the pictures it has the Indian handlebar bags and saddle bags. The saddle bags are stamped "Keiser". This is a classic antique motorcycle and I am ... read blog
