1953 Indian Chief Matching Engine/Frame numbers - The last number on the frame is obscured by paint/age and is very hard to make out. I believe it is a "5" same as the engine, however, I didn't want to try and clean out that area and risk damage. You can see the numbers in the pictures. Speedometer says 8,945 miles, but can't say for sure what the actual mileage is. Odometer readings weren't recorded on the historical invoices I received. Lots of service history: 1994 Starklite Cycle CA - Complete rebuild drive train - Paint - $9,585 total work 1999 Ironhorse Agency (Indian Motorworks) Bayfield, CO - Valve job, Clutch, Primary/Secondary - Generator/Regulator, many misc parts/work - $8,065 total work I purchased the motorcycle 11/09 out of Florida. The bike was in extended storage condition when I received it (fuel drained, marvel mystery oil in cylinders etc...). I had the bike in my collection since purchasing it. To verify the bike was in good running condition before putting up for sale, I took the Chief to Vintage Motorcycles Northwest in Spanaway WA. The following service/repairs were performed: - New Cycle Electric Generator/Regulator - New Battery/Condenser/Sparkplugs - Serviced bike: oil/grease, checked/adjusted brakes Bikes starts/shifts/runs great! The paint still shows good being 23 years old. Could use a buff out to shine more, and there are minor imperfections here and there due to age (too small to show up in a picture). The chrome also shows well, but also has some minor pitting/imperfections due to age. Overall, the bike has a great look and looks like a riders bike not a trailer queen. Included: - Appears to be the original Chum-me seat - Old generator - Foot board extensions - Original windscreen? Looks original but I don't know for sure, also missing one mounting rod.
