Very nice numbers matching BSA Lightning with original engine with stamped BSA logos behind the engine numbers. Show winner at European Bike Day at the Museum of Transportation in Boston. Runs very well with no noises or smoke. New correct Dunlop K70's, perfect tank with no dents, perfect seat, shiny original and correct Jones rims. Only 8703 original miles. Everything works as it should. Horn is a recent copy of the Lucas original. Repaired crack in front fender (see photo). Rear fender shows some light chrome pitting between the seat and rear light. One side panel has been repainted but is a good match. Otherwise as good as you will find. This is the nicest unrestored Lightning I've seen. They're only original once! This is a very tidy 1972 BSA Rocket 3 four speed that I have owned for some years. I need to make some space in my garage so I am offering it for sale.It has quite a few new parts including:-Front fork seals and boots-New Dunlop TT100 rear tire-New battery-Boyer Electronic Ignition-Rebuilt carburetors-New chrome rims and stainless spokes-New mufflersSignificantly the engine has been recently refurbished and tuned by Jerry Liggett of Triple Tecs, the renowned Triumph and BSA triple specialist in California as is noted in the attached Triple Tecs report detailing the work performed on the bike. The engines in these triples are complicated and expensive to rebuild so having a solid motor is the essential part of the machine. It starts, idles and runs nicely.Though the black motor is not the stock color it is a handsome bike and draws admirers wherever it is parked. It is becoming increasingly difficult to find these triple BSA's for sale. They made over 20,000 Tridents but only about 2,500 ...
